There are only few small cities in France that can say they have housed a true genius. Amboise is one of them. During the last years of his life, Leonardo da Vinci, painter, inventor and Italian architect in exile, has lived in the Château du Clos Lucé of Amboise. Today, this ravishing castle holds a museum and interpretation centre dedicated to this artist from Florence. Besides the rooms where he spent the last part of his life, the museum exhibits paintings and sketches of the master, just like a few of his engineering and architectural projects.
