This castle unexpectedly seems to rise from the old marshes and is forever connected to the hunting life of king François I, who decided on building the castle. The first goal of this castle, set at the heart of a forest housing plenty of wildlife, was to offer the king of France a home to dedicate himself to his passion for hunting. Today, visitors will be surprised by this impressive castle in French and Italian style. It is listed as World Heritage by UNESCO and nestles in a 800 ha park with free access to the public. Even when you’re not visiting the castle, you can enjoy a stroll around this splendid estate.
